Lualaba Expeditions was founded in Kolwezi by a team of Congolese tourism professionals and former mining-industry guides who kept getting asked the same question by visiting relatives, contractors and diplomats: "Is there actually anything to do here?"
The honest answer was yes — an extraordinary amount — it just had never been organised for travellers. We built this company to formalise that: licensed access to heritage mine sites, professionally guided park expeditions, a properly researched history tour, and a cultural immersion program that pays local families fairly and directly.
We are proudly Congolese-operated, headquartered in Kolwezi, and registered with the DRC Ministry of Tourism.

Senior Heritage Guide
20+ years in the mining sector before joining our team; leads all Mine Heritage tours and trains our newer guides on-site.
Parks & Wildlife Lead
Registered ranger-trained guide for Upemba and Kundelungu, with a background in conservation fieldwork.
Cultural Liaison
Coordinates every homestay and artisan partnership personally, and translates for our Cultural Immersion and Lumumba Memorial tours.
